Pre-Pour & Frame Stage Compliance Inspections
Before a builder can pour concrete or close up a wall frame, the work needs to be checked against the RPEQ-signed engineering drawings — confirming reinforcement, footing sizes, framing, and bracing are exactly what was designed. SNG Engineers carries out these compliance inspections at both key construction stages, giving builders and certifiers the sign-off they need to proceed.
Each inspection is followed by a compliance certificate or report confirming the work matches the approved structural drawings, or noting what needs to be corrected before proceeding.
Compliance Inspection Stages
Pre-Pour Inspection (Footings & Slab)
Carried out before concrete is poured, a pre-pour inspection confirms the footings, reinforcement, and formwork on site match the engineered footing and slab design — checking bar sizes, spacing, cover, footing dimensions, and any step-downs or rebates called up on the drawings.
This inspection needs to happen while the reinforcement is still visible, so timing it correctly with your builder or concreter is essential to avoid delays to the pour.
Frame Stage Inspection (Framing & Bracing)
Once the frame is up, a frame stage inspection checks the structural framing, bracing, and tie-down against AS 1684 and the project's specific bracing and truss design — following the load path from roof to floor before the walls are lined and the frame is no longer visible.
This is a mandatory checkpoint on most residential builds and needs to be completed before internal linings go up.
