TIMBER SLEEPER RETAINING WALL

Timber sleeper retaining wall consists of timber posts embedded in concrete footings at a certain depth and spacing with timber whales or sleepers connected to posts. Timber sleeper retaining wall type is widely used in Queensland. It is a faster and the cheapest way to build a retaining wall. However, it is not the most durable option for long-term serviceability.

CONCRETE SLEEPER RETAINING WALL

Concrete sleeper retaining wall consists of steel ‘H’ posts embedded in concrete footings at a certain depth and spacing with precast concrete sleepers connected to posts. Concrete sleeper retaining wall type is also widely used in Queensland. It is a faster, economical and durable way to build a retaining wall.

MASONRY REINFORCED CONCRETE RETAINING WALL

The masonry reinforced concrete retaining wall consists of precast concrete hollow masonry blocks with vertical and horizontal steel reinforcement tied together to a concrete footing which stop the retaining wall from sliding and overturning. Masonry reinforced concrete walls are also widely used for residential and commercial developments. They are mainly used for basement walls.
